April 17, 2017 Student Artwork on Display at the San Diego Museum of Art
The San Diego Museum of Art presents Young Art 2017: Beyond the Ordinary featuring young artists varied interpretations of the still life, through unique reinventions of the classic genre. This long standing juried exhibit showcases the talent of our students. Congratulations to the second through fifth grade classes whose group pieces were selected for the exhibit and are on display at the San Diego Museum of Art through May 28th. A special thank you to Leslie Koshland our art instructor extraordinaire who fostered the students and submitted the artwork for consideration.
The San Diego Museum of Art celebrates the artistic talents of local youth with Young Art, a biennial exhibition of works by San Diego County kindergarten through twelfth grade students. The museum explains that “this tradition reflects the Museum’s commitment to education and community outreach and is a point of pride for the participants, educators, and participating families. By highlighting the skill and vision of students throughout the region and the art educators who guide them, Young Art brings awareness to the importance of art education.”
A special preview night was held at the museum on April 13th for the student artists and their families when many CCDS artists were able to see their artwork on display and enjoy the gallery opening. It was a wonderful evening. Take a look at the selected artwork now on display at the San Diego Museum of Art.
